I’m not certain if Citrasolv is available in other countries, but it is a non-toxic household cleaning solution, a liquid that smells like orange. What makes it so valuable (for artists) in addition to being a good cleaner is that it can be applied on the pages of National Geographic magazine and it causes the waxy ink layer to produce different shapes. Some pages turn out just beautifully, depending on the colors that were there. After that the pages can be further manipulated artistically to create wonderful art projects. Making Citrasolv art is very enjoyable from the very beginning and there’s always an element of surprise. Here, after the colors have smudged, I used the patterns that emerged and developed the painting.
